Participant Agreement

Activity description and risks
Jungle Expedition is an active adult-and-child teamwork event with eight portable, ground-level stations. Depending on the venue and approved setup, activities and conditions may include:
- walking or brief running through marked lanes and around cones.
- carrying lightweight props and completing timed teamwork challenges.
- stepping on ground-level pads, using a flat agility ladder, or crawling through a fabric tunnel.
- handling small amounts of water and moving between indoor or outdoor stations.
- uneven, damp, crowded, noisy, hot, cold, grass, turf, pavement, or flooring conditions.
- slips, trips, falls, strains, sprains, bruises, cuts, rope friction, splashes, allergic reaction, collision, weather exposure, heat illness, and aggravation of a pre-existing condition.
Reasonable safety measures cannot eliminate every risk. A participant may stop, walk instead of run, request a modification, or skip a station. The responsible adult must decide whether a child should continue after discomfort, fear, illness, or fatigue.
No drop-off participation and family rules
- A responsible adult age 18 or older must remain present, attentive, and responsible for each minor participant at all times. For a Sibling Team with two minors, the registering parent or legal guardian remains on-site for the full wave. This is not drop-off care.
- Listen to staff, wait for the start signal, remain in assigned lanes, and stop immediately when instructed.
- Walk between stations and run only where the station rules and staff permit.
- Use encouraging language. Do not shame, threaten, force, or pressure a child to complete an activity.
- Use equipment only as demonstrated. Do not climb, throw, alter, or move equipment without permission.
- Report spills, damaged equipment, injury, illness, separation, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- The responsible adult handles restroom, changing, medication, food, and personal-care needs.
- Respect no-photo identifiers and do not photograph unrelated children at close range without permission.
- Weapons, fighting, bullying, harassment, discriminatory remarks, unsafe horseplay, smoking, vaping, alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, and impairment are prohibited in the event footprint.
Staff may give a reminder, pause a team, require a modification, or remove a participant. Serious or repeated misconduct may result in removal without a refund. Emergency services or law enforcement may be contacted when reasonably necessary.
Health readiness and assumption of risk
By signing, the adult certifies that participation is voluntary; believes each participant is physically and emotionally able to participate safely with reasonable modifications; will report a new limitation before the event; will not participate while impaired; and knowingly accepts the ordinary and inherent risks for the adult and, to the extent permitted by Ohio law, for the minor participant.
Waiver, release, and responsibility terms
Voluntary participation
I understand the activity description, have had an opportunity to ask questions, and voluntarily choose to participate and/or allow the listed minor participant(s) to participate.
Release of adult participant claims
To the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law, each signing adult releases and agrees not to sue Family Rush Adventures LLC, the identified venue, event sponsors, and their respective owners, officers, helpers, agents, contractors, and volunteers (the "Released Parties") for claims arising from ordinary negligence connected with the signing adult's participation, presence in the event footprint, or authorized use of event equipment.
Parent or guardian claims related to a minor
To the fullest extent permitted by Ohio law, the signing parent or legal guardian releases claims that belong personally to the parent or guardian arising from injury to the listed minor participant(s), including derivative claims such as medical expenses or loss of services. To the extent Ohio law permits a parent or guardian to do so in these circumstances, the parent or guardian also agrees to the release and assumption-of-risk provisions on behalf of the listed minor participant(s).
Claims not released
This agreement does not release willful, wanton, reckless, or intentional misconduct; does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived; and does not eliminate duties imposed by applicable law.
Conduct, property, insurance, and medical costs
I accept responsibility for injury or damage caused by my intentional misconduct, violation of event rules, unauthorized alteration or use of equipment, or materially false information. Personal belongings remain my responsibility. Family Rush liability insurance is not personal health insurance, and I remain responsible for medical charges not paid by insurance or another responsible party.
Ohio law and severability
This agreement is governed by Ohio law. If one provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions should remain effective to the fullest extent permitted by law. This agreement and the written event confirmation contain the participation agreement; changes must be made in writing by Family Rush Adventures LLC.
Accessibility
Families may request reasonable modifications without a scoring penalty. A detailed diagnosis is not required. Family Rush may decline a change only when it would fundamentally alter the activity, create a direct safety threat that cannot reasonably be reduced, require personal or medical care the event does not provide, conflict with venue rules, or create an unreasonable operational burden. A safer alternative will be discussed when practical.
