If a child is missing now, alert Family Rush staff immediately. Call 911 if there is immediate danger, suspected abduction or staff direct you to do so.
Prevention
- The participating adult remains with the child throughout the experience.
- Use the assigned team ID at check-in.
- Tell the child to approach a clearly identified staff member if separated.
- Do not allow another adult to remove a child without staff verification.
If separation occurs
- Tell the nearest staff member; do not quietly search alone.
- Provide the team ID, child's first name, age, clothing description and last known location.
- Remain at the assigned reunification point unless staff or emergency personnel direct otherwise.
- Staff stop affected activities, secure exits as permitted, search assigned zones and contact emergency services under the approved plan.
Reunification
- Staff verify the adult using registration/check-in information and identification when appropriate.
- The event director records the separation and response.
- Families may be asked to complete a factual incident report.
Do not publicly announce a child's full name or post identifying details online.
